Gardai renew appeal for witnesses to M6 accident which left girl (5) critically injured

Gardai have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a road collision that occurred during Wednesday’s storm.

A five-year-old girl remains in a critical condition today following the collision on the M6 near Athenry on Wednesday.

The accident occurred on the M6 at Newford, Athenry, Co Galway, at approximately 7pm.

All three vehicles were travelling towards Galway city at the time.

Five other people were hurt, but their injuries are not life-threatening.

The little girl was transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital from Galway.

Gardai are asking that anybody who may have witnesses or assisted the occupants of the cars to contact them at Mill Street Garda Station in Galway on 091 538000
