GARDAI have recovered cash taken in a supermarket robbery after spotting two suspects as they made their getaway.
The two men, aged 27 and 20, were questioned by officers about the knife raid carried out at the Spar at Clarehall on the northside of Dublin shortly before 10.30pm on Wednesday.
Armed with a Stanley knife, the raiders had threatened two staff members, who they punched and kicked several times before tying them up.
The raiders then grabbed an estimated €10,000 from the store and fled the scene on foot.
The staff freed themselves quickly and raised the alarm. One garda patrol crew spotted two young men matching the descriptions and intercepted them.
The gardai recovered the €10,000 but didn't find the knife.
