THE money stolen in an armed robbery where a security guard had a shotgun pointed at his head has been recovered.
Following searches conducted last night by gardai in Tallaght, Dublin, thousands of euro stolen in a cash in a transit robbery on Monday was recovered.
The cash was discovered in a house in Allenton Estate in Tallaght on the southside of the city. The full amount recovered is believed to be around €15,000.
One man, aged in his twenties, was arrested in relation to the incident late Monday night.
He is being detained at Tallaght garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
The robbery happened at lunchtime on Monday, outside the pub at Old Bawn Road in Tallaght.
At least two raiders armed with a shotgun and a hammer, attacked the security guard as he was coming out of the premises with the money in a cashbox.
They then fled in an Avensis car driven by a third man, which was later found burnt out in Allenton Estate in Tallaght.
The car had been stolen over the weekend in Rathfarnham.
