Gardai probe two armed robberies in north Dublin
Gardai in Balbriggan are investigating two armed robberies which took place within 15 minutes of each other in north Dublin this morning.
The first incident took place at around 11.25am when two males armed with a shotgun entered a bookmakers on Main Street in Lusk demanding cash.
They threatened the female member of staff and escaped with a small amount of money in a dark-coloured Mercedes car with a registration of “11 D”.
It is thought this car travelled out of Lusk village in the direction of the Rush roundabout. There were no shots fired and no reported injuries during the incident.
At 11.40 two armed and masked men entered a convenience store in Oldtown, co Dublin.
They threatened a female staff member before making off with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.
The raiders again fled the scene in a dark coloured Mercedes car.
This car travelled in the direction of Fieldstown Bridge towards Dublin. There was no shots fired and no injuries were sustained.
Technical examinations at both scenes have been carried out and enquiries are ongoing.
Gardai area appealing for information and in particular any sightings of a dark coloured Mercedes saloon car with a partial registration number ‘11 D’ in the north Co. Dublin area between 11am and 12pm this morning.
