Gardaí in Co Donegal have launched a manhunt after a man tried to lure two children into his car in separate incidents.
Both incidents took place in Inishowen earlier this week and whilst Gardaí say they don't want to create any undue alarm, they do want public help in their investigation.
The children have told their parents that they were offered sweets to get into the lone male’s car.
The first incident took place between 3.30pm and 5pm on Monday in Bridgend.
Bridgend National School heard one of their students had been approached and issued a text alert to all parents.
It later transpired that another child had been approached just an hour after the initial incident in the Mulberry Avenue area of Buncrana, ten miles away.
Gardaí say a man in a small, silver or grey car is reported to have approached children in the border village.
It's understood the children in both cases were primary school children.
Gardai are now trawling through CCTV footage form businesses in the area in an effort to identify the suspect.
Garda Superintendent Andy Archibald said both incidents may be connected.
“We would like to speak to the driver of this light coloured car about these incidents.
“The incidents may or may not be connected but we would appeal to anyone who has information to contact us,” he said.
Anyone with information on these incidents or other incidents should call Buncrana Garda Station on 074 932 0540 or on the Garda Confidential Line, 1800666111.
