Gardai launch fresh bid to find missing woman

Gardai have issued a fresh appeal for help to solve the disappearance of Mayo woman Sandra Collins 10 years ago.

Ms Collins, who was 28 when she went missing, was last seen in her home town of Killala on the night of December 4, 2000.

Garda Superintendent Peter O'Boyle, who is leading the investigation into her disappearance, said last night: "We know that Sandra visited a shop in Killala at 7.45pm that evening and was last seen in a takeaway shop on George's Street at 11pm.

"If you saw Sandra between those times, either on her own or with someone else, but were unable to come forward at the time, please do so now," Gda Supt O'Boyle said.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the gardai or call Crimestoppers at 1800 250025.

A reward is being offered for any information that significantly helps the investigation.
