Gardai investigating shooting incident in Longford reporters

A MAN is recovering in hospital after a shooting incident at Kilmoyle, Co. Longford overnight.

The man’s injuries are not life threatening, it is understood.

According to Gardai, the owner of a furniture factory disturbed three men at the property at 6.30am.

During the incident the property owner fired a shot from a firearm injuring one of the men, Gardai said.

A second man escaped on foot and was arrested a short distance away following a search of the area by Gardai.

The third male fled the scene in a van stolen during the incident which contained work tools.

He was arrested when Gardai intercepted the van on the N4 a short time later.

The police are investigating an attempted robbery at the premises at the time of the shooting.
