Gardai investigating fatal shooting in Dublin

Garda are investigating a fatal shooting in Dublin.

A man in his 40s was shot by a lone gunman on Ballycoolin Road in Finglas just after 5pm.

The victim was rushed to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.

There is traffic disruption in the Finglas as a result of the incident. .

“The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the Ballycoolin Roadd is currently closed from the Premier Business Park to the Cappagh Road,” a garda spokesperson said.

This section of Road is expected to remain closed overnight.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to this shooting to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 6667500, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
