Gardai investigate aggravated burglary in Galway

GARDAI in Tuam are investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Caherlistrane yesterday.

The incident occurred at around 9.30pm when four males entered a house near the Church in the town.

They tied up the sole occupant, a male in his 60's.

All four men were  wearing balaclavas and gloves and one was carrying a crow bar.

A small sum of cash was taken, the occupant of the house was uninjured but shaken.

Gardai are appealing to witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of Caherlistrane between 9pm and midnight yesterday and saw any unusual or suspicious activity to contact them in Tuam on 093 70840, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
