The 23-year-old was discovered at a house at Old Tower Crescent in Clondalkin, Dublin shortly before 6am, gardai confirmed to Independent.ie.

Gardai and ambulance crews attended the scene.

The young man was treated at the scene by paramedics before he was transferred to James Connolly Hospital.

His injuries are described as non life-threatening.

Gardai are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

There have been no arrests made and the scene has been preserved for investigation.

It is believed that the latest shooting is unrelated to the gang feud that has been escalating in the city in recent days.

Local Sinn Fein councillor Jonathan Graham said that he hopes the shooting was an isolated incident.

“I condemn all types of violence, at the end of the day this is not a nice thing to be happening in the community.

“We wouldn’t like to see more of this happening,” he added.
