Gardai hunting armed robbers who held up Dublin bookmakers with large knife

Gardai are investigating the frightening robbery on the Old Cabra Road in Dublin this evening

Officers from the Bridewell Garda Station are investigating an armed robbery at the Terry Rogers bookmakers on the Old Cabra Road in north Dublin this evening.

The incident took place at around 4.15pm and according to reports a blade was held to the neck of an employee before the assailant made off with a sum of money.

The man was wearing a balaclava throughout the duration of the robbery and escaped the scene via a waiting getaway car.

“There were no injuries and no arrests have been made at this stage," a garda spokesperson confirmed.

“Inquiries are ongoing and are being dealt with at Bridewell Garda Station.”

The weapon used in the robbery was described as a "large knife"
