Gardai hunt for armed raider after cash-in-transit robbery in Dublin

Gardai are hunting for an armed raider who escaped with a sum of cash after a robbery in Lucan this morning

Gardai are hunting for an armed raider who escaped with a sum of cash after a robbery in Lucan this morning.

According to gardai, the cash-in-transit raid took place outside the Ulster Bank on Main Street in Lucan at around 12.30pm today.

Gardai say that one man, believed to be armed, made off with a sum of cash.

He fled the scene in a Volkswagen Golf.

At approximately 12.40pm a VW Golf car was found on fire at River Forest estate, Leixlip. This car had been driven onto a green area at the rear of San Carlo Senior National School and set alight.

The investigation into the incident is on-going.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them. 

In particular we wish to appeal to anyone who noticed anything in the following areas: Main Street, Lucan, Co Dublin between 12pm and 12.30pm. and River Forest Estate, Captains Hill, or Distillery Lane, Leixlip, Co Dublin between 12.30pm and 1pm.
