Gardai hunt armed gang after van raid
GARDAI are hunting an armed gang which made off with €28,000 after a cash-in-transit robbery.
Two suspects, armed with a handgun, held up a security guard as he was carrying a cash box outside a supermarket in Carpenterstown in west Dublin.
The gunman held his weapon to the head of the guard and ordered him to hand over the money.
The raiders then made their getaway in a silver Volkswagen Golf.
Nobody was injured in the incident, which took place shortly before lunchtime.
