Gardai arrest man following armed cash-in-transit robbery in Dublin

GARDAI in Coolock are investigating an armed cash-in-transit robbery at Donaghmede Shopping Centre this morning.

At around 9.30  a lone gunman approached and threatened security staff as they transferred cash from a fast food outlet before making off with undisclosed sum cash in a silver coloured Volkswagen Scirocco.

There were no injuries or shots fired during the incident.


A man aged in his 20s was arrested in the Kinsealy area in connection with this incident during follow up searches a short time later.

He is currently detained under Section 30 of the offences against the State Act at Coolock Garda Station.
