Gardai arrest burglar (29) with knife after stand-off in Georgian flat
Gardaí have arrested a 29-year-old man following an incident on Dublin's North Great Georges Street yesterday.
At around 11pm gardaí received reports of a burglary in progress at a flat on North Great Georges Street.
When they arrived, they found the man armed with a knife, still inside the flat.
Following a brief standoff, gardai disarmed and arrested the man.
No one was injured during the incident and the residents of the flat were not present at the time.
The man was taken to Store St Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The investigation is ongoing.
