Gardai appeal for witnesses to fatal M7 crash

Gardai investigating a fatal road traffic collision in which a 47-year-old man was fatally injured on the M7 motorway are appealing for witnesses.

The man was killed when the car he was driving crashed at Ballymacken, Portlaoise between Junction 16 and Junction 17. The incident occurred at approximately 21.55 on Thursday evening, March 27.

There was no other vehicles involved in the incident.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was driving a 01 D registration Silver Volvo S40 saloon car.

Witnesses that may have been travelling on the M7 southbound near these junctions around the time of the collision are asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057-8674100, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
