Gardai appeal for witnesses as pensioner killed by car in Cork

A pensioner was killed today when he was hit by a car.

The accident happened at the South City Ring Road in Cork at approximately 6.30pm.

The road was closed and diversions were in place.

The victim, who was in his 70s, was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Gardai at Bishopstown have appealed for witnesses.
