Gardai appeal for witnesses after driver killed in motorway smash

A man in his 40s has been killed after two cars crashed on the M4 last night.

The incident occurred on the M4 Eastbound near Broadford, Kinnegad at around 9.50pm.



The fatally injured man was the sole occupant of his car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.



The sole occupant of the second car, a male in his 20s, was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with injuries described as not life-threatening.



This stretch of the road was closed for a time to facilitate an examination by garda investigators but has since reopened.
