Gardai appeal for help to find missing man

Gardai are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing a 59-year-old man who has been missing from his home for more than three days.

James (Jim) Meechan from Ashbourne, Co Meath, was last seen at around 9am in Ashbourne village on Tuesday.

He is described as 5ft 10in, of average weight and build, with white/grey hair. He has a scar over his left eyebrow and speaks with a Scottish accent.

When last seen, he was wearing a black woollen hat and a black ski jacket with green-grey stripes and reflective patches on the shoulders and wrists. He is known to travel to the west of Ireland on occasion.
