PARENTS who bring children 'sightseeing' to storm scenes have been criticised by a senior garda.
Inspector John Breslin appealed to parents to exercise caution after what he called a number of "outrageous incidents".
He said: "Nature is beautiful but nature can be a beast. What appears to be recreational and great fun can end in tragedy.
"I don't want to talk about any particular incident but we have all seen them online. It is outrageous that children are being put at risk in this way."
Insp Breslin represented An Garda Siochana at yesterday's crisis meeting of the National Co-ordination Group on Recent Severe Weather.
