Gardaí taser man after car park assault

Gardaí were forced to taser a man after he attempted to run them over in a supermarket car park.

Officers were called to the scene at SuperValu on Newcastle Road in Lucan, west Dublin shortly after 2pm yesterday. It is alleged the man, who is in his 30s, was involved in an assault and made threats to hurt a woman and children.

Sources told the Irish Independent that when officers arrived, the man got into a vehicle and drove at them. Gardaí then fired a taser at him and a short time later he was arrested. A Garda spokesman confirmed a man was questioned over the incident.
