Gardaí seize €179,000 in cash as part of investigation into serious organised crime

Gardaí in Meath have seized €179,000 in cash as part of an operation that aims to "detect and disrupt criminal networks engaged in money laundering."

The cash was seized on Wednesday as part of an investigation into organised crime.

It was a combined intelligence led operation, which included Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and members of the Special Crime Task Force.

No arrests have been made in relation to this seizure.

The Garda investigation is continuing and the seized cash is undergoing forensic testing.
