Gardaí search for woman missing for 30 years

Specialist garda teams looking for a woman who has been missing for more than 30 years are carrying out searches of a premises and lands in the west.

Barbara Walsh was 33 when she was reported missing on June 29, 1985.

Gardaí looked again at her case last January as part of an ongoing review into all missing persons in the Galway garda division.

A senior officer was appointed to the investigation team and an incident room was opened.

To date, 112 lines of enquiry have been generated and 60 people have been interviewed.

The Garda Technical Bureau is helping with the searches of premises and lands at Rusheenamanagh, Carna.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has information about Ms Walsh's disappearance to contact any garda station.

Ms Walsh was married with a young family when she went missing. She was last seen at her home in Carna, Co Galway, on June 22, 1985
