Garda probe daylight attack on woman by teen in south Dublin park

Gardai are investigating an alleged assault in Dublin during which a young woman was attacked in broad daylight.

The woman, who's in her 20s, was set upon in as she walked near Westpark Fitness Gym in Bancroft Park, Tallaght, shortly after 9am last Thursday, February 25th.

The victim alleges she was pinned to the ground by a young male.

The young woman continued to scream for help and fight her attacker off until she managed to get away from him.

Although she sustained no serious injuries, she has been left traumatised by the incident.

A garda spokesperson told Independent.ie they are appealing for witnesses in relation to the incident.

They are looking for a young man, believed to be 16 or 17-years-old and approximately 5'7". He is described as wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms and a black hooded jacket on the day of the alleged assault.
