Garda probe after two bodies found with gunshot wounds in guesthouse

GARDAI are investigating the discovery of two bodies with gunshot wounds in a guesthouse in Carlow town.

A man and a woman, believed to be a couple in their 50s, were found in separate rooms at a building on Centaur Street in Carlow around 1.30pm.

Both victims are believed to have died from gunshot wounds.

Gardai said they were not looking for anybody else at this stage in connection with the deaths.

Officers have sealed off the area to protect the scene.

Both the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist’s office have been informed.

Gardai are appealing to any persons who were in the area of Centaur Street between 10pm last night and 1pm today who may have seen anything unusual to contact Carlow Garda Station at 059 - 9136620, the Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
