Gardaí investigating the murder of a man in Cork last week have recovered over €300,000 from a property rented by the man.
They are investigating whether the money may be linked to the death of father-of-two Darren Falsey.
Mr Falsey was shot dead when he went to answer a call at his rented house at Ashbourne Court in Carrigaline last Wednesday afternoon.
He was shot at least three times with a handgun.
It has also emerged that the gunman may be a killer hired from Limerick or Dublin.
And the probe is now increasingly focused on a debt Mr Falsey may have owed to a Cork-based criminal.
Mr Falsey (37) was buried yesterday.
His requiem Mass was strictly private at the insistence of his family, with only immediate relatives and invited friends in attendance at Ballinora church.
