Garda in hospital after van collides with bus

A GARDA van collided with a Dublin Bus this morning, and an officer subsequently needed hospital treatment.



The incident occurred at approximately 2.30am in Clontarf when the garda van, which contained two male Garda, collided with the bus.

It is understood the bus was parked and empty at the time.



While both Gardaí were brought to hospital following the incident, one was discharged a short time later.



The garda press office has confirmed that the remaining garda does not have life-threatening injuries.



It’s believed that they were responding to a call when the incident occurred.
