Over €500,000 worth of cannabis and cocaine was seized by Gardaí at a residence in Co. Kildare yesterday morning.

Gardaí from the Naas district attended a residence in Old Kilcullen, Kilcullen, Co. Kildare at approximately 9am yesterday morning after reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, they found a ‘sophisticated grow house’ containing approximately 826 cannabis plants at various stages of growth.

The cannabis seized has an estimated value of €500,000. An estimated €20,000 worth of cocaine was also seized during the operation.

Gardaí have now seized an estimated €1.2 million worth of cannabis during four operations in the last 48 hours.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality,” a Garda spokesperson said.
