Ensuring the public they were not joking, the Gardaí posted a series of tweets earlier today in the hope of tracing someone in Ireland who had a large number of flower pots recently stolen.

"Flower Power - Do you own this property Items recovered by Navan Gardaí Contact Navan Gardaí. 046-9021445," the official An Garda Síochána account.

The 'stash' appears to include geraniums, hydrangeas, orchids, and a number of other flowers. It also includes more than two dozen pots of various sizes and colours.

The items in question were recovered by Navan Gardaí, who are keen to hand them back to their original owner.

No doubt because they are tired of watering them.

Anyone with any information about where they might have come from is encouraged to contact Navan Gardaí station on 0469021445.
