SIXTY against three might seem like pretty unfair odds for a 'gentleman's sport'.

But this was no ordinary game of rugby.

More than 60 residents of a leafy housing estate lined out in the afternoon sunshine yesterday to take on three of the country's most famous rugby players.

The pack, from Mount Prospect Grove in Clontarf, Co Dublin, which included mums, dads, teenagers and kids, attempted to take on rugby stars Brian O'Driscoll, Paul O'Connell and Jonathan Sexton in a friendly match on their local green.

The friendly game was filmed as part of a special advertising campaign by 02 which will be screened during the rugby world cup.

The company approached the local residents' committee in recent weeks to ask if they would like to take part.

"There was a huge response, more than 60 locals took part and another 55 watched from the sidelines for the filming yesterday," said a spokeswoman for 02 yesterday.
