Galway murder investigation: Gardai hold four men in relation to publican’s death

GARDAI investigating the murder of Galway teacher and publican John Kenny today arrested four men.
Three men, one aged 17 the two others in their 20s and 30s, were arrested in the Galway area following planned searches.
They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Galway Garda Station.
Later today a fourth man, aged 29, was arrested in the Galway area and is being held at Tuam Garda Station under Section 30.
Meanwhile, Florin Fitzpatrick, (37) who was charged with withholding information in the case, will appear before the District Court in Galway again on Friday.
Fitzpatrick, from Romania, was remanded in custody when he appeared at Harristown District Court last Sunday.
Mr Kenny (56) was found dead in his pub nine days ago. A post mortem revealed he had died as a result of an assault.
