The GAA has sought a meeting with Communications Minister Eamon Ryan over his plans to make more sporting events available on free-to-air TV, writes Colm Keys.
The minister has earmarked all GAA provincial finals and All-Ireland quarter finals, semi-finals and finals alongside Heineken Cup rugby matches.
The idea of a GAA TV channel, meanwhile, has gathered pace with GAA president Christy Cooney giving the idea some oxygen in recent weeks.
