G8 notebook

Q BRITISH Prime Minister David Cameron caused palpitations by tweeting that he could "reveal a bomb was found in Lough Erne" during the G8.

"Now #G8UK is over I can reveal a bomb was found in Lough Erne." Heart attacks were prevented, however, when he explained "it was American from WW2".

"Apparently they had a practice mortar range here!"

Q Taoiseach Enda Kenny wore a red pin badge during the summit to denote he was a VIP.

Mr Kenny and other principals – other leaders – were given access to parts of the Lough Erne estate off limits to others.

It is the norm at European and other summits for the leaders to wear badges to mark them out.
