BRITISH comedy legend John Cleese, pictured below, will be in Ireland next year to film a period drama in a Galway castle, writes Caroline Crawford.
The gangly actor, who won over generations of audiences as the hapless host of 'Fawlty Towers', will be based there for up to two months.
Cleese will be joined by other Hollywood stars to film 'Of Corset's Mine' in Lough Cutra estate in Gort, next April.
"We're expecting them to be here for between six to eight weeks. They will be taking over the castle and many of the buildings but the estate will remain a working farm," said estate manager Chris Nicholson.
The castle is home to Susie Gwyn-Jones who will move out for the duration of the shoot.
The actors will be housed in the cottages around the estate. The film is billed as a sexy period drama which will focus on a 19th century aristocrat male who risks losing the love of his life after he disguises himself as a woman in a bid to save his sister's inheritance.
