BUDGET cuts in health will affect frontline services Health Minister James Reilly admitted today.
However, he said that he is doing everything possible to diminish the impact of the reductions in spending.
The Minister, speaking on RTE’s Morning Ireland programme, said he regretted colon screenings would be delayed, however he claimed that the waiting period for patients could have been even longer than current waiting times.
The cost of public provision of nursing home care needed to be reduced and there would be certainty by early March as to how many beds would be cut, he said.
