AIR passengers travelling to France, Spain, Portugal or North Africa will face serious disruption today if French air traffic controllers proceed with planned strike action.
A spokeswoman for the Dublin Airport Authority last night said: "We do expect some disruption but it's unclear at the minute as to what degree."
She added that on several previous occasions similar strikes had been averted at the last minute.
Ryanair did not specify how many of its flights through Irish airports would be hit but said that 70 flights to and from France had been cancelled in anticipation of the strike.
A spokesman said that passengers due to travel today would receive updates via email and text message.
