Four units from Dublin Fire Brigade battling ongoing gorse fire near Howth

Four units from Dublin Fire Brigade are battling an ongoing gorse fire near Howth.

Two pumps, a district officer and a water tanker are currently at the scene of the blaze, which first began at around 3.30pm on Tuesday.

Crews from Kilbarrack, North Strand and Phibsborough have been at the scene since late in the afternoon.

The fire broke out close to the Greenhollows area of the North Dublin village, which is located close to a quarry.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
