Four men and one woman arrested in garda operation combatting organised crime

Five people were arrested - four men ranging in ages from 19 to 27 years and one woman aged 17 - in a garda operation to combat organised crime in Limerick.

Gardai from Henry Street station in Limerick, Tipperary and Clare carried out planned searches on a number of premises this morning.

The searches were as part of Operation Fiacla - an ongoing operation to combat organised crime.

The searches were carried out in Limerick and Tipperary.

The men and woman are being detained under the provisions of Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007 as amended at Nenagh, Roxboro Road, Henr y Street, Newcastle West and Shannon Garda Stations.
