Early morning commuter traffic has been severely affected as a result of the crash

A road crash involving four cars on the Belgard Road has been reported this morning.

The incident occurred just before 730am in the southbound direction, towards Tallaght, just after the junction of Mayberry in the right lane.

It is unclear whether there are any serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Traffic on the Belgard Rd is moving well but the crash has blocked one lane for commuters, according to AA Roadwatch.

"A four-car crash on Belgard Rd southbound (towards Tallaght) blocking the right lane."

Motorists have been warned to take care on approach.

Meanwhile, emergency services have arrived at the scene of a collision on the M50.

Three lanes were blocked between junctions 5 (Finglas) and 6 (Blanchardstown).

The vehicles involved were later moved to the hard shoulder but traffic remained backed up as far as the M1.

Gardai have warned motorists to expect delays and avoid the route if at all possible.

Another crash has been reported this morning on the Phibsborough Road between the Canal and Phibsborough shopping centre.

The incident blocked two inbound lanes and one outbound earlier but has since been cleared.
