Four arrested as gardai seize €300k worth of drugs

Gardai have arrested four people in connection with the seizure of drugs worth €300,000 during an operation in Meath and Louth.

Three men, aged in their 20s, 30s and 50s and a woman in her 50s have been arrested as part of the investigation.

Gardaí seized approximately 13 kilos of cannabis herb when they searched a number of vehicles near Ashbourne this afternoon.

A follow up search was later carried out at an address in Drogheda where a further 1.5 kilos of cannabis herb was recovered along with a quantity of cocaine.

The four people are currently detained under drug trafficking legislation at Finglas and Drogheda Garda Stations and can be held for up to 7 days.

Investigations are ongoing.
