Temperatures are set to reach up to 23 degrees in some parts of the country today.

Dublin and the surrounding counties are to experience the best weather in what will be a humid and breezy day with spells of hazy sunshine.

When asked if people should root out their summer attire once again, Joanna Donnelly of Met Eireann said “nope, forget it” as the weather is to take a turn tonight.

Cloud is going to thicken in the west tonight causing some outbreaks of heavy rain that will bring with it much colder weather.

Tomorrow will be a cooler day, with temperatures reaching highs of 14 degrees “at best”.

Outbreaks of rain and strong southwest winds will affect Atlantic coastal counties but it will stay mostly dry in the east and south.

The weekend is also set to be much cooler than it has been in previous weeks, with Met Eireann advising that the weather is set to turn much colder from tomorrow onwards.
