Foal rescued with collar severely embedded into skin
The ISPCA has rescued a foal with a severely embedded head collar.
They found the foal while responding to reports of cruelty at a property in Trim, Co. Meath.
They removed the animal and proceeded to carefully extract the collar.
ISPCA inspector Elaine Reynolds said: “I was glad to have gotten to the foal in time before he suffered any further. This would have been very painful for him, and could have had serious consequences if he did not receive veterinary treatment in time.
"We are delighted with his quick recovery and hope to see him available for fostering soon.”
The foal is now recovering well. Investigations are continuing to trace his owner.
