A flight en route to Dublin Airport this morning declared an emergency this morning while over the Irish Sea.

The CityJet Flight 112 reported a technical problem ahead of its landing in Dublin.

Dublin Airport Authority were in contact with the plane before its arrival.

A Dublin Airport Authority spokesperson told Independent.ie that the plane was given precedence on its approach to the airport, which is part of their standard procedure.

"All precautions were taken and a full turnout of Dublin Fire Service were in attendance for the flight's landing," the spokesperson said.
