WIDESPREAD flag protests passed off without any major incidents last night.
More than 60 protests were understood to have taken place with motorists in Belfast worst affected.
The majority of road blocks came into force at 6pm and dispersed within an hour.
Bus services in and out of the city centre were halted during that time but returned to normal afterwards.
Translink said most of its buses were not leaving the city centre, the only exception being the service to the Falls Road.
Many rugby supporters heading to last night's Ulster game heeded warnings to arrive early in order to make the 7.05pm kick-off, with some arriving at Ravenhill as early as 4.30pm.
Others avoided traffic disruption by travelling to Belfast by train.
There was a stand-off for some time on the Lower Newtownards Road and protesters initially ignored police warnings to move off the road, before eventually standing aside.
