Five units of Dublin Fire Brigade responded to a fire at a café in St James’s Hospital in the early hours of this morning.
The call out was in response to a smoke alarm that went off in the Kylemore Café at around 3am
A hospital spokesman told independent.ie that an alarm went off and there was a smell of smoke, but the matter was dealt with swiftly.
The number of fire brigade vehicles, including an ambulance, that were sent to the scene was standard protocol for an alarm raised in a hospital, said a Dublin Fire Brigade spokesman.
