Five arrested by gardai investigating smartphone muggings

GARDAI have arrested a number of people in relation to a series of muggings where smartphones were taken from teenage boys.
Three youths and two men in their late teens were arrested after searches in Fairview, Finglas and Rathcoole.
All five were detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Pearse Street and Irishtown Garda Stations.
The three juveniles have been charged and will appear in the Childrens Court in Smithfield, Dublin this morning.
One adult male was released without charge, but another adult male has been charged in relation to the thefts and released on bail to appear in court at a later date.
