MORE than €700,000 worth of drugs has been seized in two separate searches.

Three men were arrested early today when 400 cannabis plants were discovered growing in a house in the Ballymorris area of Mullinivat, south Kilkenny.

The plants, which had a street value of €360,000, were seized during a planned operation by gardai at Thomastown into the sale and supply of illegal drugs.

Three men - aged in their 20s, 30s and 40s - were arrested at the scene and are being detained at Thomastown.

Elsewhere, a man and a woman are being questioned over the seizure last night of €350,000 of an hallucinogenic synthetic stimulant.

Approximately 10kg of MEC (Methylethcathinone), a man-made drug which was more commonly sold as wild cat in so- called head shops, was found in an apartment at Slaney House near the IFSC.

The 44-year-old man and 42-year-old woman are being questioned at Store Street.
