The score was tight in the Bernard O'Callaghan memorial North Kerry Senior Football Championship final in Listowel, Co Kerry, with Beale just one point ahead of opponents Duagh when tempers erupted with just minutes to go.

Our picture by local photographer Domnick Walsh shows Terence McMahon on the Duagh team joining in the fracas with a fist to the back of Paul Collins of Beale (wearing green).

But no player was sent off and play resumed without further incident.

An eyewitness described the scenes as "grappling" and "handbags" and said that it had not even been much of a talking point among supporters after the match had ended.

The game ended in a draw, with Duagh on seven points and Beale with one goal and four points. The two teams must now square up against each other again for a replay this Sunday.
