YOU know things have hit rock bottom when there is every possibility you could find your dinner in a pothole.

But in the wake of a deepening pothole crisis around the country, that is exactly what one man tried yesterday.

A frustrated Mr Kavanagh was hoping to showcase the dire state of the road between Abbeyleix and Rathdowney.

The road has been pockmarked with great chasms in the wake of the crippling deep freeze around Christmas.
