Fine Gael TD does 'Psycho' Ice Bucket Challenge

NOW that just about everyone has completed an ice bucket challenge for Motor Neurone Disease, being original is proving an even greater challenge.

But one TD has come up with an idea that even director Alfred Hitchcock would be proud of.

Kerry South TD Brendan Griffin has completed his “Psycho Ice Bucket Challenge” inspired by the infamous shower scene from Hitchcock’s 1960 thriller.

And the Fine Gael TD’s efforts are earning the praise of his Facebook friends since he posted it on the social networking site.

“It literally took 10 minutes during my lunch break yesterday but it took my next-door neighbour Eden Kane, another film buff, about two hours to edit it,” said the father of one, an avid Hitchcock fan who says the shower scene is his favourite movie clip of all time.

“It was just a bit of craic for a good cause and sure, if we can’t have a laugh at ourselves what are we at,” he said.

So far, over €1m has  been donated to the Irish Motor Neurone Association by people completing the challenge and texting MND to 50300.
